Sponsorship Appeal to Churches, Families, or Individuals

GOAL:       Enlist 25-30 churches, families or individuals who will each pledge $30 per month on a continuing basis to finance the operation of HTF Home School's shelter, congregation hall, gospel music club, kindergarten and young farmers' training center.  Each sponsor would be supporting one (1) resident at the shelter, including a volunteer staff of 6-8 adults.

This is a support request for HTF Home School
.  If supported, the achievement of the GOAL mentioned above is possible -- it has been done for the past two years with the help of a small support group of visitors, volunteers, and anonymous donors.  The shelter is home to 20 children, a Christian (Burmese Baptist) caretaker couple, their young daughter, and several Burmese Christian volunteer teachers.  HTF Home School has formed a Christian family and network of local friends in the village.  It would like to grow further with your assistance.

I am an American teacher working in Thailand who founded the shelter.  I have supported its continued operation financially for two years from my own meager salary.  Although I will continue working as a teacher to provide funding for the shelter, I will no longer be in Thailand (from 2009) to assist the caretakers, Ita and Goin.  They need your help and would like to solicit support from Christian organizations that would help them achieve their goals of directing its further growth into a local congregation, bible school, and homestead.   Land has been leased for a garden, a main residence building has just been constructed through the generous donations of teachers, other supporters and an ngo in Sri Lanka.

Although HTF Home School is working towards a degree of self-sufficiency with a garden, fish tanks, chicken house, and mushroom hut it still requires about $750 per month to feed 25 people a month.  That's only $30 per month per resident.  Sponsorship of the children -- either individually or as a group -- would help meet the basic food budget requirements.  We receive additional funds from several private individuals and visiting volunteers who help us pay for additional needs such as school supplies, clothes, etc.  (We are listed online with several websites -- www.idealist.org, www.ic.org, www.wiserearth.org, and www.goabroad.com)  Volunteers who have visited us over the past two years have left their testimony of our work in their observations within our monthly newsletters.  Please take the time to read them and share the (news) with your friends.
